Last roses without leaves

At the end of autumn the leaves are now fallen, but roses are still there. When the thermometer goes under 0°C, they freeze all, also the rose buds. Perharps we shall have rose at Christmas. Last year there were still there in January. A long season, this rose bush is blooming more than the half of the year.

Tree blooming in autumn and winter

The virbunum with flowers white like snow is blooming in the late autumn and at the beginning of the winter, like now (I made this photo in Pont-sur-Sambre).

Roses of October

In our mild North country (I was surprised but looking at Google Earth I saw, we are more in the North than Winnipeg or Vancouver in America), with a half oceanic weather warmed by the Gulf Stream, we can have flowers until the end of December, sometimes also at the beginning of January like last year and the first spring flowers are coming at the end of February so that we have only a month without flowers.

I made this photo in my small wild garden.

Hortensia in the wildness (Pont-sur-Sambre)

This hortensia in in the wildness of a garden of a photographer of City Daily Photo. From whom? You have to guess. It is autumn and just before the first cold weather is coming, the hortensia have lost a little their proud colours. There are more and more hortensias in the Avesnois, it is in the North/North-East of France, but soon it shall looks like french Britanny where it is the flower you can find in the front gardens of houses.

I do not know how I get this painting effect, but the photo comes directly from my camera without modification... It's not very sharp, and in this way get this painting effect! Photo taken in a garden of the cité Notre-Dame at the 3rd of september 2007.

3.. February gardening

In February it is time to plant this blue plants, the violets. Here are some flowers awaiting to be planted. The photo was taken in Pont-sur-Sambre

240. Landscape in Sains-du-Nord.

Also on my every day road to the college, I have to look at such landscape. Here is the country land all green. You can see here some cows in the far. And the decorative "fields flowers" at the edge of the Main Road of Sains-du-Nord.

239. Last autumn flowers.

We had a warm autumn. Till this day the weather was only one time about 0°C. So that there are still may flowers which decorate gardens, towns and roads. People begin to put their geraniums in the inside of walls so that they do not freeze. But many roses are still in the gardens. They can last till Christmas. And only the months January and February are here without flowers. In some part of rural towns they make decorations with these mix of flowers which are sawd and are called field flowers. They last all the summer and till the end of october and later so lon it doesn't freeze. I took this photo in Sains-du-Nord at the side of the main road.

234. Flowers on a tree and tree on an iron wire.

It is an optical effect, but the tree seems just to be on the iron wire there were before the camera and the flowers are set on the tree. I find this way to use an old tree a pretty one, but I love trees so that I am deceived that this tree was cut. I took this photo in Aulnoye-Aymeries in the district of the railway-station at the edge of two streets.

230. Autumn flowers.

Until this day and although it is almost November we had no freeze so that the flowers are always in their plenty blooming. I made this photo at the edge of the Avesnois in a place named Sebourg. Sebourg is is the Valenciennois but only a few kilometers from the border of the regional nature park Avesnois so that this little town is not very far from here. This stone decoration is at the edge of the monument to the dead soldiers of the wars of the 20th centuries which you can find in almost all the french towns and on the main place of villages.
